So, mostly this blog and the author are concerned with the completely self-gratifying world of bike racing. Howev, today I am going to tell you about something else I am working on.
Saturday August 30, the Summit Challenge will take place in and around Park City. It is going to be a 50 mile ride with all proceeds benefitting the National Ability Center. I realize that most of my readers are more inclined to the racing end of things, but here is an opportunity to support an incredible organization. It is towards the end of the race season, so why not take Labor Day Weekend for a more relaxed and fun event that is perfect for the whole family.
On that note, there is also a 15 mile ride in the works for those not inclined to go the full distance. We are working feverishly on this event, and there will be sweet post ride barbecue with raffle prizes that will blow you away.
This year’s event is actually a kick-off pre-ride for the 2009 event, which will feature a full century ride. Don’t let that stop you though- the 2008 event will be an awesome, scenic ride for a great cause.
More details as they become available, but seriously you should plan on this.
